Alabama AmeriCorps State
Notice of Funding Opportunity
2025-2026

The Governor's Office of Volunteer Services and AmeriCorps are pleased to announce the availability of federal funds to support new, recompete, and continuation Alabama AmeriCorps State applicants to start in September or October 2025.
 
Nonprofit organizations, community and faith-based organizations, institutions of higher education, state and local government agencies, Indian Tribes, and partnerships among these groups in Alabama are eligible to apply for funds to operate local AmeriCorps programs that meet locally identified needs in the areas of disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, veterans and military families and rural communities.

ALL New, Continuation, and Recompete applicants must select a program year start date of September 1 or October 1, 2025, for 2025-26 program year.

Formula Applicants Second Submission Reading and Requirements - Due February 20, 2025
Read the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and Application Instructions before submitting an application to ensure you understand all requirements.

The  AL AmeriCorps State Grant Application will not be available to submit until Mid-late January - 2025.

Multi-State AmeriCorps Programs

Organizations that intend to operate an AmeriCorps program in more than one state or territory must apply directly to AmeriCorps, the federal agency that administers AmeriCorps and other national service programs in the United States.
 

Prior to submitting an application, multi-state applicants must consult with the Commissions of the states in which they intend to operate. Multi-state organizations proposing to operate in Alabama should consult with the Alabama State Service Commission by submitting the National Direct Consultation Form.
