Why did you join AmeriCorps?

"I have a background in social justice work, and I wanted to utilize my experience to benefit my hometown."

What is your favorite part of service?

"I'm partnered with an organization addressing poverty and homelessness. My service site deals with a wide range of issues, because housing is a foundation for community and building a healthy community means empowering people who are experiencing homelessness. So I have the opportunity to impact folks from a multitude of backgrounds while engaging in issues that I'm passionate about."

What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not serving? "I like going to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society to pet kittens."

Favorite snack? "Kettle cooked potato chips or Kit Kats."

Favorite soda?

"I stopped drinking soda in middle school. And I'm currently giving up coffee. I've recently grown to like kombucha."

What are your plans after AmeriCorps?

"Who knows? I don't!"
