Member Spotlight: Autumn Harris

Meet Autumn Harris, she serves with Birmingham Engaging in STEM AmeriCorps-BETA.

What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I joined AmeriCorps because I wanted to serve another year helping the community. I also joined because I wanted to continue to see the progress that my students are making and will make throughout the school year.

What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to build networks out of this service opportunity. I would also like to continue to grow and help others grow both educationally and fundamentally.

What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? My service will focus on bringing opportunity for advancement to students who may not get that otherwise. It will also focus on satisfying the needs of others around me.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps I plan on continuing my own education. I plan on doing this by going to graduate school next year to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy.
