Member Spotlight: Francois-Oliver Alexander Barreau
Meet Francois-Oliver Alexander Barreau, he serves with Birmingham Engaging in STEM AmeriCorps-BETA.
What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I joined AmeriCorps because I saw an opportunity to help others in the community, while at the same time cultivating my skills for the future. I get to work on both my future and the future of others.
What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I will consider this service opportunity successful if I make an impact in at least one child's life. It does not have to be a monumental impact, just something positive that the kids I work with can hopefully take away from me.
What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? My service for the 2017-18 year will focus on growth. Not just academically for the students I work with but also emotional and psychological growth.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I plan on attending law school and hope to become a fairly successful entertainment lawyer.
*Oliver Barreau is currently fulfilling his AmeriCorps service at Glen Iris Elementary School
Thank you for your service Oliver!
