Member Spotlight: Jeremy Clemmons, Instructional Assistant

Meet Jeremy Clemmons, he serves with the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team with the Bright Beginnings Pre-K program.

What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I enjoy seeing children happy. If your just give a child a second of your time, that can make a huge impact in their life.

What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I want children to understand that they do mater. They should never feel as though they have no one to talk to.

What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? Bright Beginnings provides direct support to economically disadvantaged children in a Pre-K program to develop school readiness skills in terms of social and/or emotional development, and literacy skills. I will also focus on giving children the attention they need to succeed throughout their life.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I plan on finishing college and trying to fulfill my dream. After that, I want to just enjoy my life and move to California.
