Member Spotlight: Talisa Reaves, Instructional Assistant

Meet Talisa Reaves, she serves with the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team at W.O. Parmer Elementary.

What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? My love for children is what motivated me to join AmeriCorps. I have four small children and it allows me to be more active in their lives. Being an AmeriCorps member also gives me more knowledge and experience.

What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to gain experience from this service opportunity. I do believe this service experience will take me far.

What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? My service will focus on helping students become the best they can be and to boost their confidence by improving their academic performance. These kids are our future!

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? My plans after AmeriCorps are to go back to school and become a pediatric specialist. AmeriCorps has already given me so much experience with children and I can’t wait to gain more!

Thank you for your service Talisa!
