Member Spotlight: Le’Sadra Cook, Instructional Assistant
Meet Le’Sadra Cook, she serves with the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team at Greenville Middle School.
What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? This first think that made me join AmeriCorps were the numerous great stories I heard about the program. The second reason was, I had just received my associates degree and wasn’t sure of my next step, so I figured I would see how it felt to be working with kids all day.
What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to have a life changing experience. As well as work on being a better person and help the students to do the same, and see how life will be as a teacher.
What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? Providing direct support to economically disadvantaged children in order to improve performance in literacy and/or math as measured by pre- and post- standardized tests to demonstrate improved academic performance.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps? To be a better person, become an Early Childhood teacher, finish college, and start my career.
Thank you for your service Le’Sadra!
