Member Spotlight: Monshieka Hampton, ANFRC AmeriCorps member

Meet Monshieka Hampton, serving with the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers AmeriCorps program at the Norwood Resource Center.

What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? AmeriCorps gained a reputable reputation for serving the community. As a person who desires to make a positive difference, I believe AmeriCorps will be a great team to join to achieve it.

What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? From this service I desire to further assist my community especially through the youth. I firmly believe that one of the keys to having a great future for all is to develop that future within the generation who will be leading it.

What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? My service will have different avenues that assist with food drives and tax assistance. The majority of the service will be focusing on the youth.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? My plans after AmeriCorps are to continue to thrive to serve in my community. I plan to do this by continual assistance in the youth and their family.
