Meet Jalynn Carter, serving with the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers AmeriCorps program at the Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement.
What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I went through the afterschool program where members had served. I saw the impact the members made on my life and I wanted to give that to give that to the younger generation.
What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I hope to gain more knowledge about my community and its needs so I can help.
What will your service focus on for the 2017-18 program year? This year I hope to lead the youth in my community to make better life decisions in school as well as the community I will be serving. I will be serving in the afterschool program.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I would really love to continue to serve my community any way possible.
