Meet Talisa Reaves, serving with the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team in Butler County. She serves at W. O. Parmer Elementary School.
What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because of my love for children and I wanted to give back to my community.
What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I would like to gain some experience which will help me further my career goals.
What will your service focus on for the 2018-2019 program year? During this program year, my service will focus on providing direct support to economically disadvantaged students in grades K-2. Our goal is to improve performance in literacy and math as measured by the pre- and post standardized tests which demonstrates improved academic performance.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I plan on finishing school and I want to pursue a career in education. I love working with children and I want to utilize my experience with AmeriCorps to continue to grow in this field.
