Member Spotlight: Dexter Davidson, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member

Meet Dexter Davidson, currently serving at Georgiana School, in the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? The kids motivated me to join AmeriCorps. It’s wonderful just to give back some of the knowledge and courage that I have gotten from being in school and give it to them. To see a child smile or make their day uplifts. That is what has motivated me every day since I joined AmeriCorps.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? What I hope to get out of this service opportunity is to make a difference in other's lives while seeing their life end up on the right track. Also, I want to learn more and do different things because every day offers a new learning experience.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-2020 program year? My service focus will be helping students.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? My plans after AmeriCorps are to graduate college and start my own business. I also want to become a coach or teacher. I just love to help others and to make a difference in my community.
