Member Spotlight: Shannon Powell, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member

Meet Shannon Powell, currently serving at Bright Beginnings Pre-School, in the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? This my third year in AmeriCorps. I love to watch the children grow while gaining so much knowledge from the first day of school until the last day of school.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I aim to help any child in need and to help them grow. And, I also want to be more involved in my community.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-2020 program year? My service focus will be helping the students.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? My plan after AmeriCorps is to go back to school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. I also plan to go to Troy University for my Bachelor of Science degree.
