Member Spotlight: Nia Carter, Teach For America-AL Member
Meet Nia Carter, 9th,11th and 12th Grade Science Teacher, currently serving with Greensboro High School, a service site of the Teach For America-AL AmeriCorps program.
1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? Through AmeriCorps, I want to inspire children living in underserved communities to reach their full potential. I am dedicated to helping my students become productive members of society.
2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity? I want to help children in any way that I can. I want to support my students in all their endeavors inside and out of the classroom.
3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-20 program year? During this program year, my service will focus on maximizing student achievement by having them grow 3 points on the ACT.
4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I plan on attending graduate school.
