Member Spotlight: Emily Adrian, Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers Member
Meet Emily Adrian, currently serving at SAFE Sylacauga, with the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers AmeriCorps program.
1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I believe that everyone deserves the chance to prosper whether it be in their community or other aspects of their life. Sometimes circumstances make that difficult. I’d like to be someone who can help others achieve great things and overcome their obstacles.
2. What would you like to get from this service opportunity? I would like to better myself and to develop more leadership skills for the future.
3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-2020 program year? During this program year, my service will focus on bettering the lives of students in an after-school program.
4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? In the Fall of 2020, I will be attending the University of Montevallo as an Art major/Education minor. Hopefully, in the future, I will be able to start an art program somewhere that doesn’t already have an implemented program.
Thank you for your service, Emily!
