Member Spotlight: Emily Paxton, Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers Member

Meet Emily Paxton, currently serving at Help Me Grow Central Alabama, with the Alabama Network of Family Resource Centers AmeriCorps program.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because AmeriCorps provides service opportunities that will allow me to narrow my career options as well as refine my professional skills and involvement.

2. What would you like to get from this service opportunity? Ideally, I would like to make connections and see growth in my local community. Completing these would make this opportunity feel like a success.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2019-2020 program year? During this program year, my service will focus on screening local youth for early intervention and tracking healthcare as compared to average children their age.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I hope to use my skills to find a job in Green Social Work in a different region of the country or internationally.
