Member Spotlight: Abigail Miles, AIST Alabama AmeriCorps Program

Meet Abigail Miles, currently serving with Greenville Middle School, a service site of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team AmeriCorps program.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps?

I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I love the experience of providing meaningful service to individuals in school settings.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?

I want to go back to school to teach Middle School Math.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?

My service will focus on students in various instructional assistance to help students meet or exceed individual developmental growth targets resulting in an increase (5% gain) in standardized test scores in reading and or/math.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps?

After AmeriCorps, I want to be able to go back to school.
