Member Spotlight: Banks Baker, Student Conservation Association AmeriCorps Program
Meet Banks Baker, SCA Member, currently serving in Mobile, AL, a service site of the AmeriCorps Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Program.
Members will protect, restore, and enhance public lands and waters through activities like invasive plant removal, trail creation, and native planting along coastal Alabama habitats.
What will your service focus on this year? Project work focusing on environmental restoration and increasing public access to nature, invasive plant management, fire line maintenance, and built board walks.
What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member? I saw the opportunity on Indeed and thought it looked cool.
What advice would you give someone interested in serving with your AmeriCorps State program? It’s a cool gig, you'll probably do things you didn’t expect but it is fun.
