Member Spotlight: Blakeley Taylor, Mobile Baykeeper AmeriCorps Program
Meet Blakeley Taylor, AmeriCorps Environmental Educator, currently serving with Mobile Baykeeper, a service site of the AmeriCorps program.
1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps?
I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I wanted to gain experience in the Environmental Sciences field before I graduate from the University of South Alabama in a year. AmeriCorps is an excellent way to give back to the community while gaining personal experience for a future career.
2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?
I want to gain environmental knowledge while benefitting my community as well as Mobile Bay.
3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?
My service will focus on making presentations/ presenting to elementary-high schoolers across Mobile and Baldwin County.
4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps?
After AmeriCorps, I will obtain my degree in Environmental Sciences at The University of South Alabama. After this, I hope to have a full-time job in my field, potentially the EPA.
Thank you for your service Blakeley!
