Member Spotlight: Corissa Grayson, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member

Meet Corissa Grayson, AIST Member, currently serving at Greenville Middle School, a service site of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team AmeriCorps program.

AIST members assist students in pre-school - 12th grade in all Butler County Schools (McKenzie, Georgiana & Greenville). AIST partners with community projects & participates in National Service Days throughout the year.

What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member? This is my fourth service year and seeing the direct impact this program has brought to the community the last 30 years was my motivation. I get the chance to be a part of change that is larger than you as an individual. 

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I plan on using the remainder of my Segal Reward which has been so beneficial to complete my degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Next, I plan to continue my education and become an RN (registered nurse) and a school nurse within my community. 

Corissa Grayson is currently serving her fourth term of service at Greenville Middle School. She graduated from Greenville High in 2010 and completed the WorkKeys Assessment. She has a son and will be graduating nursing school this year.
