Member Spotlight: Elethiana Mobley, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member
Meet Elethiana Mobley, AIST Member, currently serving with Georgiana School, a service site of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team AmeriCorps program.
AIST members assist students in pre-school - 12th grade in all Butler County Schools (McKenzie, Georgiana & Greenville). AIST partners with community projects & participates in National Service Days throughout the year.
What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member? Currently I am raising two grandchildren, and it is beneficial for me to be on the same schedule as them, serving with AIST allows me to do so. I also gain knowledge from serving in the school system to better help their growth and development.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I would love to participate in the teacher apprenticeship program with the Board of Education and become a certified teacher.
Elethiana Mobley is currently serving her third term of service at Georgiana School. She was previously enrolled in AIST in 1998-2000 and served in VISTA International Territories. She graduated school in New York in 1980 and in 2004 received her Bachelor of Science Management of Human Resources from Faulkner University. She plans to re-apply for the 2024-2025 AIST program year.
