Member Spotlight: Faith Turner, Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps Program

Meet Faith Turner, a Science Teacher at Shades Valley High School, a service site of the Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps program.

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps?

I was motivated to join the AmeriCorps program for the impact that education has on an individual's health outcomes. I have a passion for educating and the medical field.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?

I would like to teach students how to respond to professional communication and to come across as polished.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?

During this program year, my service will focus on growing the students’ love of Science Education.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps?

My plans after two years with TFA are to go to medical school and get my MD/Ph.D.
