Member Spotlight: Isabella Jordan, Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps Program
Meet Isabella Jordan, High School English Language Arts Teacher, currently serving with G.W. Carver High School, a service site of the Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps program.
1. What will your service focus on this year?
My focus this year is being able to provide my scholars with a rigorous and equitable learning environment. I will do this by making sure each scholar is held to high standards and is given the resources to meet their goals.
2. What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member?
Teaching has always been my passion, but I wanted to be a part of something that would hold me accountable and assist me in being the best educator that I could be.
3. What advice would you give someone interested in serving with your AmeriCorps State program?
If you are interested in joining Teach For America, you have to make sure that you are ready and willing to put in the effort and work that is needed to become the leader that you need to be in order to fully support your future scholars.
Thank you for your service Isabella!
