Member Spotlight: Joseph Jones, Selma Alabama AmeriCorps Program

Meet Joseph Jones, Tutor, currently serving with the Valley Creek Community Center, a service site of the Selma AmeriCorps program

1. What motivated you to join AmeriCorps? 

I was motivated to join AmeriCorps because I want to help others in my community. Along with that, I want to inspire myself, better manage time, and learn additional skills along the way.

2. What would you like to get out of this service opportunity?

 I want to learn professional development skills and apply them in my next career and life steps.

3. What will your service focus on for the 2021-2022 program year?  During this program, my service focus will be on Education, Economic Opportunity, and Healthy Futures for our elderly and young people.

4. What are your plans after AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I want to continue providing service for the elderly and young people in various aspects. Also, I will continue to finish my College Education.
