Member Spotlight: Kate Moore, Student Conservation Association AmeriCorps Program

Meet Kate Moore, SCA Member, currently serving in Mobile, AL, a service site of the AmeriCorps Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Program.

Members will protect, restore, and enhance public lands and waters through activities like invasive plant removal, trail creation, and native planting along coastal Alabama habitats.

What will your service focus on this year? Learning about conservation and related fields. I will also be expanding on my knowledge of teamwork.

What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member?  The way AmeriCorps allows young individuals to work outdoors while learning about conservation. I am inspired by the type of projects this position consists of and the opportunities within it.

What advice would you give someone interested in serving with your AmeriCorps State program? Come to work eager to learn and step out of your comfort zone. Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.

Kate, thank you for your service!

You or someone you know could be the perfect fit for the SCA AmeriCorps program! Learn more.
