Member Spotlight: Makyra O’Reilly, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member
Meet Makyra O’Reilly, AIST Member, currently serving with W.O. Parmer Elementary, a service site of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team AmeriCorps program.
AIST members assist students in pre-school - 12th grade in all Butler County Schools (McKenzie, Georgiana & Greenville). AIST partners with community projects & participates in National Service Days throughout the year.
What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member? I was inspired to serve as an AmeriCorps member to work with the youth and give back to the community.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps? My plans after AmeriCorps are to use the skills and knowledge I have gained from serving and put forward into a career path.
Makyra O'Reilly is currently serving her first term of service at W.O. Parmer Elementary. She has a daughter. She graduated in 2003 from Saint Croix Educational Complex High in the Virgin Islands and has her WorkKeys Assessment. She is going to re-apply for the 2024-2025 AIST program year.
