Member Spotlight: Meet Alex Quezada, Student Conservation Association AmeriCorps Program.

Meet Alex Quezada, SCA Member, currently serving in Mobile, AL, a service site of the AmeriCorps Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Program.

1. What will your service focus on this year?

My service will focus on prescribed burn operations in Alabama. These operations will help mitigate future fire hazards along with the promotion of wildlife and plant/tree species and their growth.

2. What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member?

What inspired me to serve as an AmeriCorps member is the opportunity to improve my well-being along with helping the environment in protection and growth.

3. What advice would you give someone interested in serving with your AmeriCorps State program?

If someone is lost in their journey through life, definitely join AmeriCorps. This organization along with the programs it offers has helped me and others in figuring out what we would like to do with our lives along with opportunities to help the community.
