Member Spotlight: Meet Andrew Lambris, Student Conservation Association AmeriCorps Program

Meet Andrew Lamb, SCA Member, currently serving in Mobile, AL, a service site of the AmeriCorps Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Program.

1. What will your service focus on this year?

The service this year will mainly focus on habitat restoration around the gulf in the Mobile area. I will also focus on trail restoration, invasive species removal, monitoring, and other similar projects.

2. What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member?

I was inspired to serve because I was looking for a program to provide experience in the environmental field. AmeriCorps is giving me that experience and hands on work. I know that I’m making an impact on the habitats around our area so future generations have the options to enjoy them as well.

3. What advice would you give someone interested in serving with your AmeriCorps State program?

If you enjoy nature, then this is a great program. The work is very rewarding, and you will gain a second family.
