Member Spotlight: Turner Vickery, AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team Member

Meet Turner Vickery, AIST Member, currently serving with Georgiana School, a service site of the AmeriCorps Instructional Support Team AmeriCorps program.

AIST members assist students in pre-school - 12th grade in all Butler County Schools (McKenzie, Georgiana & Greenville). AIST partners with community projects & participates in National Service Days throughout the year.

What inspired you to serve as an AmeriCorps member? I was inspired to serve as an AmeriCorps member because I wanted to gain experience in the education system and continue to make an impact in children’s lives.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps? I want to gain a better understanding of child development and pursue a career in elementary education.

Turner Vickery is currently serving his second term of service. He assists students at Georgiana School where he graduated from in 2018. He has an Associate in Science Degree from Lurleen B. Wallace Community College. He plans to re-apply for the 2024-2025 AIST program year.

Turner, thank you for your service!
