Member Spotlight: Virginia Saft, Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps Program

Meet Virginia Saft, currently serving with Greensboro Elementary School, located in Greensboro, Alabama (Hale County). A service site of the Teach for America Alabama AmeriCorps program.

Teach For America finds, develops, and supports equity-oriented leaders to transform education and expand opportunity for all children.

What inspired you to serve as a Teach for America/AmeriCorps member? I was inspired to serve as an AmeriCorps member because I wanted to work at Greensboro Elementary School and serve in Hale County.

What are your plans after Teach for America/AmeriCorps? After AmeriCorps, I am unsure of my plans, but I may continue at my school where I currently serve.

AmeriCorps member Virginia Saft was pinned by Emily Heller, TFA Alum, teacher, and founder/Executive Director of the nonprofit the CAP & GOWN Project. Virginia learned about TFA after getting involved with the Cap & Gown Project as a high school student in Huntsville, Alabama.

Virginia, thank you for your service!
